Camp Kilworth

 

On Saturday evening, March 4, 2006, Nisqually Lodge Members gathered at Camp Kilworth

in Federal Way to give it a fond farewell for the number of years it's given back to Scouting.

This twenty-five acre property has been used by Boy Scouts since the 1930s and was a gift

to the Council by William Kilworth, prominent Tacoma businessman and philanthropist. The

event started with hors d'oeuvres and a dessert auction that was very successful ($550).

The evening ended with a unique ceremony that started with older arrowmen sharing their

camp experiences and then transitioning to their younger counterparts. The ceremony ended

with a respectful burning of the American Flag that flew at the Camp Fire Bowl. Click on the
