Good Event Planning
Involve the Ranger.
Do lots of brainstorming. Don’t discount anyone’s suggestion.
Have a good job assignment/task list broken into categories like Budget/Financial; Publicizing the Event; Food and Kitchen Crew Arrangements; Recognition - Prizes, Patches, Awards; Special Events and Programs; Special Guests; Clean-Up. Make sure you have subcategories for different aspects of the category including the name(s) of the persons responsible, the target date and the completion date.
If you have workshops, make sure you have sign up sheets. It would good if they could put their phone number down as well.
Have lots of cool prizes and giveaways like tickets to the WWF or Tacoma Hockey Team.
Do an OA Casino Night where each participant gets an envelope when they register full of fake casino money. There are also Adult Dealers who get to wear a special name badge. Have the Dealers dress up in colorful costumes and have lots of variety in the types of games that you offer. Have a prize auction using the casino money at the end of the evening. Types of games -- three BlackJack Tables (7 players per table), one Roulette Table, on Chuck-A-Lug and hopefully a Lucky Wheel.
